PANTONE'S 2015 COLOR OF THE YEAR IS WARM COMFORTING BOOZE

Like a childhood mood ring you really wanted to believe in but always knew was hogwash, every year Pantone predicts our national mood by highlighting a single shade from its library. This year's choice—the company's 15th annual color of the year—all about "sophisticated, natural earthiness." Or maybe just wine, which works too.
Today the company announced that 2015 is going to be all about Marsala, a red-brown hue named for the Sicilian wine. According to Pantone's panel of experts, it's a color that "enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability." How? By reminding us of food and booze! Here's what Pantone's Executive Director has to sayabout the choice:
Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal, while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness. This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors.
